Crazy Lover

In a small village on a small island lived a husband and a wife. The two had been married five years and were expecting a child. The wife was a frail woman of 23 and the husband a capable man of 24. The village they grew up in was so small and tight-knit that everyone who lived there knew each other. It was the type of place where rumors spread fast--a nice place to live when you didn't have anything to hide. Being as the village and island were both so small there were only three villages and two schools there. This being such, the couple's families had grown up together and were very friendly. As such, when the two were small, even before meeting in school, they got along well and always played together. Growing up they went to the same school from kindergarten through high school. Never apart. They had been the type to play house when they were small and the boy had always said that when he grew up he would take the girl as his wife. The girl loved this and would always say that when she grew up she would be the boys bride. As soon as the two were old enough to know that those who like each other "date", they were going out. All throughout middle and high school the couple had dated and, as the youths they were, they had a few small fights every now and then, but they always made up and loved each other twice as much afterwards. The wife would always make delicious bentos for the husband to eat under the shade of the giant persimmon tree in the back of the school and the husband would always carry the wifes books and give her rides to and from school on the back of his bicycle. They were a picture perfect couple that everyone loved and admired. There was no college on the island and no need for it as many people would inherit their family businesses or become fishermen. So when the couple finished high school they got married just as everyone had always expected. They spent a few years on their own enjoying the newlywed life before deciding to have children.
